Then my daughter was born, and it all came tumbling down. I realized what I was missing: my father. The buzz and excitement of race day can be motivating any time but especially after a tragedy such as the Boston bombings. So this year, I going to take the next step in my running journey and do a half marathon. I love to one day run a full marathon, but right now, I will start with a half and see how it goes..

I drive west out of town to an old fashioned meat market and get fresh meats. What you find in the grocery stores in generally very old and very processed. My butchers joke that they did not run from the back room to the display case fast enough so the meat is less than fresh. As for me, I do consider myself a “responsible person” who understands the consequences of various food choices to my waistline and health. To me, responsible means that I hold myself accountable for the food choices I make. McDonald’s may have deeper pockets than some of the other companies I could go after (Dreyer’s ice cream, Hershey’s,xi xiu tang bee pollen reviews, Frito Lay, to name just a few).
